Koi Herpesvirus DIstribution in North America
United States KHV was isolated by Hedrick, et al in the late 1990s in carp from Israel and the US. Not reportable in US so the extent of the disease undetermined. Carp were introduced to the US many years ago and KHV disease is infecting carp in native waters as well as koi ponds.
